Our first Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse of 2020 is on Friday, January 10th!
During the Full Moon, the Sun and the Moon are in full opposition, which makes the Moon a big bright light in the night sky. One of my favorite self-care rituals is following the Full Moon every month as it travels through each of the zodiac constellations and practice awareness of the sign's energy to center my intentions for the next Moon cycle. The Full Moon helps us eliminate barriers that prevent us from embodying our intentions and true potential. It's a powerful practice (especially for women), and I invite you to join me in this practice.
On January 10th the Full Moon will be in Cancer. So what does this mean? We may feel Cancer's influence illuminated in our experiences and intentions for the duration of the Full Moon. You don't have to be a Cancer to feel the effects of the Full Moon. You may feel and experience Cancer's energy more or less intensively depending on your chart, but everyone can access and work with the Full Moon's energy to create breakthroughs.
We are also greeted by a Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, amplifying the Full Moon's energy and providing greater opportunity for healing and transformation. This Full Moon is a big one and may be the most emotionally intense Full Moon in 2020.
Cancer holds space for you to feel, so the Full Moon could surface raw and truthful emotions that are leading us towards a new way of being. Raw emotions can be difficult to navigate when they surface. Give yourself space and the opportunity to be vulnerable. Cancer's gift is using their strong emotions (intuition) to guide them through life as long as they learn the healthy balance of detaching from their emotions and not get stuck.
I recommend journaling during this Full Moon by asking yourself:
1. What old wounds do I carry that need releasing?
2. Am I carrying old mindsets that need releasing?
3. How well am I balancing my own needs before others?
4. How do I give space for your feelings to emerge? Do I need more or less of this space to help balance my life?
As you bring awareness to your emotions, the doorway to your intuition widens. Your intuition is your higher guidance that provides the answers within you.
Cancer is a nurturing introvert that loves family, cooking, and spending time at home. After you spent time reflecting, you may find yourself cuddling on the couch with comfort food and loved ones.
